Hurricane Melissa Disaster Relief

Following the devastating impacts of Hurricane Melissa on our
ancestral lands in Hanover, the Yukayeke Yamaye Kokuio
launched a coordinated Indigenous-led relief and recovery
program to protect lives, restore critical infrastructure, and begin
long-term rebuilding.

Sustainable Building for Climate Adaptation

This initiative tackles aging and damaged housing stock, rising temperatures, drought conditions, and increasingly violent hurricanes. The project blends traditional Taíno architecture with modern sustainable technologies to rebuild our village for future generations.

Indigenous Sustainable Farming Program

This program transforms five acres of tribal land into a regenerative, culturally grounded agricultural hub. It restores food sovereignty, revitalizes Taíno foodways, and strengthens climate resilience through agroecology and traditional knowledge.

Tribal Archive Project

The Tribal Archive Project is a community-led initiative to document, protect, and revitalize Taíno Kokuio Clan knowledge through Indigenous methodologies that honor consent, relational accountability, and cultural continuity.
